San Juan Medical Foundation produces several special events during the year. All board members are encouraged to participate in planning, promoting, attending or financially supporting. Some of the special events are:

Responsibility as a member of the SJMF Board of Directors
• Attend board and applicable committee meetings and special events and other functions.
• Become informed about the organization's mission, services, policies, and programs.
• Review agenda and supporting materials prior to board and committee meetings.
• Serve on at least one committee or task force and be willing to take on special assignments.
• Serve on at least one committee or task force and be willing to take on special assignments.
• Assist with access to new areas of resource development through individuals, corporations, or grant making sources.
• Inform others about the organization and be an ambassador for the Foundation by assisting public understanding of the role and mission of the Foundation.
• Suggest prospective nominees to the board who will contribute to the work of the board and the organization.
• Comply with conflict of interest and confidentiality policies.
• Work in good faith with staff and other board members as partners towards achievement of our goals.
• Assist the board in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities, such as reviewing the organization'sannual financial statements.
• Inform the board if I am unable or unwilling to fulfill the duties as stated. If I am not able to meet my obligations as a board member, I should consider voluntarily resigning from the San Juan Medical Foundation Board of Directors.
• Include the San Juan Medical Foundation in my philanthropic giving.
