History

Local residents, Jerry and Bonnie Connelly traveled to Texas when Jerry required treatment for cancer. After their stay at a patient lodging facility in Houston, the Connellys returned to Farmington with a goal—to create a hospitality house where patients and their families could find comfort during challenging times.

Their dream became a reality in 1991 when the San Juan Medical Foundation established the Connelly Hospitality House fund through a generous bequest from the Connelly family. Almost a decade later, in February 2000, the Connelly Hospitality House opened its doors, becoming a haven for those in need.

Today, the Connelly Hospitality House continues to thrive, fully supported by the dedication of volunteers, the kindness of individual and corporate donors, and grant funding. This remarkable blend of generosity and community spirit ensures that the house remains a place of hope, care, and refuge for patients and their loved ones.
