Responsibility as a member of the SJMF Board of Directors
• Attend board and applicable committee meetings, special events, and other functions.
• Become informed about the organization’s mission, services, policies, and programs
• Review agenda and supporting materials prior to board and committee meetings
• Serve on at least one committee or task force and be willing to take on special assignments
• Assist with access to new areas of resource development through individuals, corporations, or grant-making sources.
• Inform others about the organization and be an ambassador for the San Juan Medical Foundation by assisting the public understanding of the role
and mission of the foundation.
• Suggest prospective nominees to the board who will contribute to the work of the board and the organization.
• Comply with conflict of interest and confidentiality policies.
• Work in good faith with staff and other board members as partners towards the achievement of our goals.
• Assist the board in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities, such as reviewing the organization’s annual financial statements.
• Inform the board if I am unable or unwilling to fulfill the duties as stated. If I am not able to meet my obligations as a board member, I should consider
voluntarily resigning from the San Juan Medical Foundation Board of Directors.
• Include the San Juan Medical Foundation in my philanthropic giving.
