Texas 4000

June 16, 2010

TEXAS 4000 FOR CANCER hosts the longest annual charity bike ride in the world, leading 45 cyclists from Austin to Anchorage to raise money for research and awareness for the fight against cancer. The bicyclists collectively raise $350,000 per year. They have raised over $1,000,000 for the American Cancer Society and MD Anderson Cancer Center. Their focus is to bring hope to cancer patients, to educate others about cancer and to urge everyone to join in the fight against cancer. The San Juan Medical Foundation is proud to host the riders each year.

Farmington has been an overnight stop for the past several years and will be again this year. Riders enjoy a hearty dinner and then are guests of area families.
