Mary E. Dugan Cumulative Giving Society

The San Juan Medical Foundation and San Juan Regional Medical Center are honored to name this cumulative giving display in memory of Mary E. Dugan.
Mary E. Dugan was a woman with a dream...
In 1985, as the first President of the San Juan Medical Foundation, Mary set this newly formed charitable organization on the path to improving the quality of medical care in Northwest New Mexico. Under her inspirational leadership and with the help of many in the community, more than $1M was raised to purchase and equip a comprehensive cancer treatment facility. Mary’s dream became a reality when the San Juan Regional Cancer Center opened in 1987.
Through the years, Mary was actively involved in many community organizations and activities, including the San Juan Regional Medical Center Board of Directors, San Juan Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, Salvation Army Advisory Board, PEO and Bethany Christian Church. Our community is a better place because of Mary’s insight and compassion.
You will notice the rainbow in the display, which traditionally stands for hope. The rainbow held special meaning to Mary, as well, and the day she passed away, there was a brilliant rainbow in the sky. Thank you, Mary, for making your dream a reality in our community.
Membership in the Mary E. Dugan Cumulative Giving Society begins at the cumulative gift level of $5,000.
